I have a 1968 142, progressive rate springs and front and rear sway bars, factory overdrive; working on the rust and the interior is outstanding; I want to remove the rear seat, cannot for the life of me figure out how; I do not want to start yanking on it as I do not want to damage it; is it right in plain sight and I am just not seeing a bolt or something?

David,
Don't know if you have a reply yet, but my 68 142 I took out the rear seat bottom to clean, and as i recall it was a bit stuck. But you put your hand in the middle of the bottom seat crack right below the armrest and pull up sharply. The back of the bottom seat comes up and can then be unhooked from the two front hooks. Everything is rather heavy duty so I don't think you can break it if it is rusted or stuck.

You have to push down hard while pushing the bottom cushion toward the back in order to release the latches. There are two on the front edge of the cushion about a foot inward from the edges. Sometimes they could be a pain. Once the bottom is out, then the bolts are exposed to remove the back. _________________ Auto Parts MiniCab Insurance
